Come to one, come to all! Bring yer friends and take over
State Workers News and updated list
The State Workers will play at Arlene’s Grocery at 8PM, August 13. There’ll be new songs, new foods, new and old friends, as well as cold PBR. Get it in yer soul!
Arlene’s is on 95 Stanton in NYC, more information right here. We hop [sic] to have the pleasure of seeing you there, and you get yourself a cd or shirt or something while you’re there.
Then, on Thurday Sept. it’s on at 8:00 PM at FONTANA’S NYC, myspace.com/fontanas and fontanasnyc.com.
“In case you didn’t feel like showing up” section:
We played July 25th in Brooklyn at the Bushwick Starr. It was uaaaaaafffff! HiiiYA!!, joined later by Pass Kontrol, Lady Magma,
and Buffie Gilbert (whose Simonesque “Don’t let me be misunderstood” held a roomful of semiraucous hipsters in thrall, rightly so)
The folks who lit it up were shooting for it to “be a classic”, which I suppose meant the freak flags were meant to be flown. They pretty much flew.
Here is some live audio, from Trailside Amphitheatre, at The State Workers’ the Bear Mountain Earth Day concert (April 25th, 1PM)
“WorkDown”: mp3 HERE!and
“Big [Hudson] River”: mp3 HERE!
Also, Will will did a solo gig there on August 1st. It was nice.
